MySpace for Novices

You have heard all the hype and would really like to check it out, but the thought of navigating a website like MySpace is intimidating and so you haven't tried it yet.

The first step towards using MySpace is to create your user profile which simply entails entering some very basic information such as your email address. You will need to create a user name but do not use your real name.

There are literally thousands of different interest groups that you can join to share your interests (such as quilting groups) or show your support (such as American Humane Society).  You will quickly find MySpace has tremendous potential for learning about your interests from resources located in all corners of the globe.

Once you have friends to chat with, create a blog where you can chronicle your daily observations. You are free to write what ever you want on your blog; but there is one extremely important factor to remember, your blog is public and anyone can read it. Many bloggers use their blog as a medium for raising awareness about particular issues. For instance, you could chose to raise your voice about the current planned wolf hunt in Colorado to make readers aware of what is happening.

Or, you could be a woman pregnant with her first child who blogs about her changing feelings (emotional and physical) as the pregnancy progresses. Your blog is yours to write with as you please, just remember that everyone can read what you are writing and like words once spoken, words written on MySpace cannot be taken back.
